Drumbox can import MIDI files

This is a new feature under development for DrumBox!  You can now import standard MIDI files into DrumBox and tweak them using the DrumBox interface.  You can then save your project and/or download it as a standard MIDI file.  This feature is still in development, no docs yet, but here's the basic how-to:
  • Enter a file name, or click the Browse button to locate a MIDI file on your computer.
  • Click the 'Import MIDI' button and wait.  Depending on the size of the file that you're importing this can take some time.  You may also get some messages from your browser telling you that a running script is taking too long and should you cancel.  Tell the browser to continue, it's worth the wait because this is saving you huge amounts of time :)
  • Once the file is imported its contents will be merged with whatever was already in your project.  If you want to have only the new stuff then make sure that your project is empty before you click 'Import MIDI' (use the 'Clear All' button if you have to)
  • Currently only note on/off events are imported and only for channel 10 (the drum channel).  This means that if you upload a MIDI song that has parts for other instruments besides drums then only the drums will be captured.  This can be very useful because it allows you to mine the MIDI file for just the drum parts!
  • The time signature, tempo and other metadata are not captured so you will need to adjust the beats per measure, number of measures and tempo manually.
